Looking for info regarding the early years of Reuben Cross in Ne versink. I’m interested in his years as a child, up to the age of 20 or so. I would be happy to schedule a weekday off from work to drive from Massachusetts to the Catskills in the early spring if that would help connect on this research. I’m writing a book focused on the years after he left the Catskills but it’s his earliest years that are something of a mystery to me, including his schooling and family. Richard
A Denning request. Adrianus Schillermans Sr and Anna Marie Ottevanger Schillermans, born in Dordrecht Holland and recorded as living in Denning per 1850 census. I would very much like to have a photograph of the town or street or residence area of Denning where they lived. Is it possible that the house they lived in remains standing? Would anyone have information about this family? Nancy
I am trying to find information on Aaron Hornbeck and Peter A. Hornbeck. I believe that Aaron is Peter A. Hornbeck's son. Peter A. Hornbeck was married to a Charity Kettle and was born in September of 1795. Peter went by Peter A. Hornbeck and Petrus Hoornbeck. I want to find some documentation that shows that Peter A. was the father of Aaron Hornbeck. Aaron Hornbeck died on March 8, 1868 and was buried in th Shelley burial ground. He was dug up in 1940 and reburied in the Grahamville Rural Cemetary behind the Dutch Reformed Church. I know that he was alive in Denning New York at 75 years of age in 1870 as he shows up on a census.
